Weekly Update February 2
Weekly Update
Friday, February 2, 2018

Dear Parents,

We ended the first month of the new year with a true celebration of the spirit of our amazing community of learners. On Wednesday morning, students, staff and families gathered in the school cafeteria for the grand unveiling of our community mosaic project. The beautiful mosaics created by our Day School family in just one week amazed me. In tribute to resident artist Lizz Van Saun, fifth grader Ian Skinner said it best: “When everyone works together, it is amazing to see what you can achieve. I hope this serves as an example to future students that when the Day School family works together, beautiful things happen." To read more about this ceremony and view a slide show of the event in the Lowell Sun, click on this link: http://www.lowellsun.com/local/ci_31635748/artist-students-unveil-school-mosaics

The generous spirit of our community culminated in the Soup-er Bowl competition. Students participated in a friendly competition to collect the most soup cans for the Westford Food Pantry. By the end of the week, Day School families contributed an astounding 2,245 items! Thank you for your amazing generosity.

Have a great weekend! Go Patriots!

Sincerely,

Chris Louis Sardella, Principal
Norman E. Day Elementary School
